Behind Closed Doors: Stopping the Capture of NEDLAC,” on the 25 June 2025
PRICELESS and SAAPA SA hosted a dynamic workshop titled “Behind Closed Doors: Stopping the Capture of NEDLAC,” on the 25 June 2025. The workshop disseminated study findings which highlighted industry interference in public health policymaking, specifically alcohol policy and sugary beverage tax policies. The session featured presentations by Prof Sue Goldstein; Darshen Naidoo and Pfumelani Cheryl Siwela . The presentations were followed by discussions led by Aadielah Maker Diedericks and a closing talk by Prof Lekan Ayo-Yusuf as the NEDLAC processes relate to tobacco legislation. Chaired by Yolanda Chekera-Radu, the workshop fostered meaningful engagement on ensuring transparent, accountable, and health-centred policymaking.
