
Vinayak Bhardwaj is a researcher within PRICELESS SA. He holds a masters’ degree in public health from Johns Hopkins University and an MSc degree in chemical engineering from University of Cape Town. Prior to joining PRICELESS, he worked as the migration health coordinator for Southern Africa at Doctors Without Borders/Medicins Sans Frontiers (where he was also deputy country director).
He has worked on various health economic analyses, including within digital health in the US, serosurveillance in India, HIV control in Khayelitsha, and in providing a package of care for patients with advanced HIV in rural South Africa. He has also consulted for the Institute for Vaccine Access Consortium and India Maternal Health Center (Johns Hopkins), the Center for Global Development (where he co-authored a multi-country study looking at impacts of alcohol, sugary drinks and tobacco taxes on morbidity and mortality), for the Asian Development Bank and for the Perinatal HIV Research Unit at Wits University. He is currently completing a Doctor of Public Health degree at Johns Hopkins University.
